Foreign-related Legal Professional Committee

In recent years, hand-in-hand with Hong Kong and Macao, Guangdong Province has been promoting the foreign-related legal cooperation in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao by making full use of the preemptive advantages of reform and opening-up, the policy advantages of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and the geographical advantages from the adjacency to Hong Kong, Macao and ASEAN. As a Shenzhen-based major law firm, China Commercial Law Firm has started to highlight the development of foreign-related legal business as one of its key businesses. In order to be resilient to the development trend of economic globalization, and grow into a national strong institution providing foreign-related legal service in the future, in December 2019, the Foreign-related Legal Professional Committee of China Commercial Law Firm (hereinafter referred to as "the Foreign-related Committee") was formally established after the approval by the Executive Committee of China Commercial Law Firm, integrating a large number of foreign-related professional talents in the law firm and introducing a lot of experts from foreign-related fields. After the establishment of the Foreign-related Committee, the scope of foreign-related legal service turns to cover cross-border investment and financing, cross-border finance and capital market, cross-border dispute resolution, cross-border e-commerce legal service, legal service for foreign-related construction project, foreign-related marriage and family affairs, foreign-related taxation, foreign-related intellectual property and information security and so on, forming full-process comprehensive foreign-related legal service in all kinds of fields including civil affairs, criminal cases, consultation and compliance. At China Commercial Law Firm, the foreign-related lawyers provide legal service to a wide range of government agencies, Chinese and foreign enterprises and high-net-worth people, serving clients in various countries and regions around the world in multiple languages.

With the high-quality promotion of the construction under the Belt and Road Initiative and the global consensus on economic recovery, on March 17, 2022, the Foreign-related Committee held a conference for restructuring to further develop the foreign-related business of China Commercial Law Firm. The restructuring has promoted the business relationship between the headquarters of China Commercial Law Firm and its joint ventures, and is intended to enlarge and strengthen the foreign-related legal business scope of the Firm, build an international law firm with new approaches, improve the construction of a new international strategic system, and refine the competence in foreign-related legal service fields. Up to now, the Foreign-related Committee has had a number of international lawyers who have international vision, good knowledge of international rules and competence to handle foreign-related legal affairs. It is now propelling the development of foreign-related legal service business of China Commercial Law Firm with full forces, and committed to creating a foreign-related legal service team with characteristics of China Commercial Law Firm who follow the international trend and explore innovation and reform. At present, 12 business departments are set under the Foreign-related Committee: Cross-Border Investment and Financing Department, Trade Relief and Industrial Damage Department, Cross-Border Dispute Resolution Department, International Trade Department, Cross-Border Finance and Capital Market Department, Foreign-related Blockchain Department, Foreign-related Family Affairs and Wealth Inheritance Department, Foreign-related Taxation Department, Foreign-related Criminal Department, Foreign-related Construction Project Department, Foreign-related Compliance Department for State-Owned Enterprises of Party, Government and Armed Forces, and Foreign-related Intellectual Property and Information Security Department.
